4/12/2016 - The Old Mathematics Teacher

4/12/2016

The Old Mathematics Teacher became constipated one day.  "Lucky for me, that's a problem I can easily work out with pencil and paper!"

Sorry, I appologize for that one.

4/10/2016 - The Old Cowboy

4/10/2016

The old cowboy was out tending his herd of cattle and decided to count to find out how many he had.  He counted 197 head of cattle.

He thought to himself "I could drive these up to Dodge City, and sell them all and retire in luxury".  (Luxury by cowboy standards was not a good as you might think.)

Well, he rounded them up and found he had 200!

How did that happen?

Think about it!

Astonishing Numbers

April 2, 2016

15 is an "astonishing number".  15 equals the sum of all of the integers from 1 through 5.

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 15.

The next "astonishing number" is 27.  27 is the sum of all of the integers from 2 through 7.

2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 = 27.

204 is an "astonishing number".  204 is the sum of all of the integers from 20 through 4 (yes, we are going backwards, but that's OK).

20 + 19 + 18 + ... + 6 + 5 + 4 = 204.

891,406,343,154,063 is equal to the sum of all of the integers from 8,914,063 through 43,154,063.

P.S.  I have finished my first cycle of chemotherapy.  It was rough, but I still have my lovely hair.  I will keep up the treatments.  But today has been the first day in a while that I felt like blogging.

I will try to get in a few more posts before my next cycle starts next Thursday.

I appreciate those of you who are praying for me.
